Hello world!

Welcome to Adventures of Blogging in the Classroom and thanks for stopping by. I’ve always been intrigued of how teachers have utilized today’s social media for students to gain experiences that change their thinking. One way that I find most intriguing rather than the all popular outlet of facebook, is blogging.

I was so intrigued that I eventually introduced this topic of blogging a year ago into my English/Reading class half way through the year. I felt that this would be a great outlet for students to express their thoughts from prompts that I was able to give them. Well to say the least, I fell short of that goal.

I’ve used different blog sites before but thought I would give this try for my students next year. I”ve tried blogging in my classroom before but really didn’t stick with it.  I”m currently a graduate student in the Edtech program at BSU.  For various reasons, I have a couple of different blogs and even tried using blogs in the classroom. I am quite intrigued in where this journey of blogging in the classroom is going to take me. I’m hoping that through this journey of the course, I find ways that blogging gives students the outlet needed for their voices to be heard.
